International academic journal (Clinical Infectious diseases) recently published a paper titled "genetic diversity of sars—cov—2 in coronavirus disease 2019 patients" from the The Chinese research team. The research results show that some people infected with new coronavirus have found the increased level of virus diversity, which indicates that there is a risk of the rapid evolution of new coronavirus. However, there is no evidence for the transmission of (intra host variants), but this risk should not be ignored. The corresponding author of this paper is Beijing Genomics Research Institute of Chinese Academy of SciencesLi Mingkun, researcher and doctoral supervisor of the Research Institute, members of the research team come from many units, including Beijing Institute of genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; University of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Key Laboratory of national health and Health Commission, Institute of pathogenic biology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences; biomedical frontier Innovation Center, Peking University; Key Laboratory for diagnosis and treatment of new infectious diseases, Department of respiratory and critical care medicine, Peking University People's Hospital. The First Affiliated Hospital of the University of science; center of excellence and innovation in the frontier of animal Way” communication of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc.The center of excellence and innovation, etc.The team studied 8 novel coronavirus pneumonia, 25 patients with community—acquired pneumonia and 20 healthy controls by transcriptome sequencing in 8 patients. The increased level of virus diversity was found in some new coronavirus infected individuals, indicating that there is a risk of rapid evolution of the virus. The researchers sequenced the transcriptome of bronchoalveolar lavage fluid samples from 8 patients with new coronavirus infection. Based on the study of 110 new coronavirus gene sequences collected from December 24, 2019 to February 9, 2020, it is found that the number of mutations in the host is between 0 and 51, medium 4, indicating that the evolution rate of new coronavirus is very high. The team identified a total of 84 variations within the host, with a minimum allele frequency (MAF) greater than 5% and 25 variations greater than 20%It is worth noting that the new coronavirus is produced in different patients The amount of variation within the host of the patient showed; the larger difference (the variation of MAF = 5% was 0 to 51, median was 4; the variation of MAF > 20% was 0 to 19, median was 1) the researchers believed that this could not be explained by the difference of the infected batch, virus coverage or pollution of the patient. In addition, the researchers found that the number of days of new coronavirus mutation or the age of the sharers had no relationship.Among them, patient 6 had a very high level of virus variation, a total of 51 variants, but the researchers did not understand the reason for this phenomenon. The researchers believe that RNA viruses have a high mutation rate. Therefore, RNA viruses are prone to develop resistance to drugs and evade immune surveillance. However, the mutation rate of new coronavirus is still unclear. But the study concluded that the mutation rate of the new coronavirus should be the same order of magnitude as that of SARS virus. The median of the variants with frequency 2 5% in the host of new coronavirus was 4, which was shared with the report of Ebola virus disease There was no significant difference, which indicated -) that the mutant Ebola virus of the new coronavirus was similar.Previous studies by researchers from the bioinformatics center of the school of life sciences, Peking University and the Pasteur Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, showed that the new coronavirus had recently produced 149 mutations and evolved two subtypes, | and s, respectively. Among them, s type is a relatively older version, while | subtype is more aggressive and infectious.
